Stunning, Shave-Ready Vintage Straight Razor with New Scales

Two spectacular hardwoods, purpleheart and bubinga, join forces to produce one stunning razor! With an inner layer of acrylic and an outer layer of fine, exotic wood, the scales on this beauty shine luxuriously the moment light hits it. A vintage New England Razor Co. blade, manufactured in Boston, Massachusetts in the mid 1930s, rounds out this piece as only an antique straight razor blade can.

Polished to a near-mirror finish and professionally honed to a shave-ready state, this razor's blade is quite a handsome specimen. Razor is completed with brass hardware, its spacer is acrylic and scales were finished with a water-resistant, acrylic treatment.

This razor has been honed to a shave-ready state by a professional honemeister using an 8-step progression:

1. 220 grit Norton Water Stone

2. 1000 grit Norton Water Stone

3. 4000 grit Norton Water Stone

4. 6000 grit Japanese Water Stone

5. 8000 grit Japanese Water Stone

6. 12000 grit Japanese Water Stone

7. 3 micron diamond paste on balsa wood

8. 1 micron diamond paste on balsa wood
